Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my lil site. I am by no means a website designer, and it's likely this site will grow, change, and be in constant mutation.
I'm originally from a good deal of places and conditions, some of which I have planned and others I have had little control over. I was born in South Dakota, grew up in Washington, attended graduate school in Michigan, and currently live in Austin, Texas. I will definitely be enjoying the mild winter here and the prevalence of activities. I volunteer for the Austin AIA and SXSW festival and am always looking for ways to at the same time contribute and feel good about myself! My hobbies range in their ambition, their investment, the ability to complete, and it's difficulty to start. To explain, my eyes are out for a vintage Bambi Airstream to gut and remodel. The problem is the investment an the difficulty that comes with owning a Honda and not having place to ark and work with it. My laundry list includes learning to fly helicopters, buying an old one screen theatre, being an extra in a "Braveheart-esque" war scene, and learning how to cut a mango to perfection. My weekends are spent with the beagle and I enjoy watching and getting invested with the sports and athletes I follow.
For my own work I grab a great deal of inspiration from the brilliance in complex and simple gestures. I admire Alvaro Siza's work and artists such as Donald Judd and Richard Serra. I believe architecture should be more than a graphic journey of representation and that the tools to produce architecture should be constantly held to a dialogue with theory, sociology, history, economics, and physical context. Good design should not be exclusive to a luxury item and an architect's role should always be a dynamic one in all areas of society.
